Can i buy from my credit card more than my credit limit?

With my credit card, i got limit of £7000, so can i do shopping more than my credit limit?? what if i do shopping of 7500,?? thanks in advance

Come cards will allow it, but then there are usually stiff penalties for going over your limit.
