Plz help, i need to get better on video games ! !?

I am addicted to video games, but i am not rubbish at them but not immensely nice, what basic advice can you give me to become nice - primarily online - in fps, rts and rpg gamesespecially ghost recon, command and conquer 3 and basically all first person shooters!
