Answer
Hello
here are a few suggestions. you may already have done so but if not, arrange to meet with your college careers adviser to help clarify what you need to do after this course to prepare for a nursing career.
i also suggest looking at http://www.connexions-direct.com/ and http://www.connexions-direct.com/jobs4u/ in order to find out more about nursing as a career, entry requirements and financial support, for example. the connexions site is aimed at young people and includes a link for local information, advice and guidance services if you find it more useful to talk with some-one about your specific queries.
other useful sites for information on a career in nursing are http://www.nmc-uk.org/, http://www.rcn.org.uk/ and http://www.nhscareers.nhs.uk/.
the ambition health website at
http://www.jobcentreplus.gov.uk/jcp/employers/helpwithyourrecruitment/ambitionprogram/ambitionhealth1739/ may be helpful for information on future employment opportunities.
you may also want to
look at supported open learning options through the open university at http://www3.open.ac.uk/courses/classifications/health_and_social_care_health_studies-nursing.shtm. it would be advisable to speak to a health and social care faculty representative from your region if this option is of interest. contact details for your local centre can be found at http://www.open.ac.uk/about/organise/p3.shtml and staff there will be happy to help you.
do allow some time for this research as there is
a huge amount of information available. i wish you well with your course and future career!
