Dvla car registration fine?

Hi, i just wanted to know what the penalty details are for not changing your car registration details with the dvla ie, new address.
Answer
The registered keeper remains liable for the vehicle until the dvla is notified of it is sale, transfer scrapping or export. by law you have to inform the dvla in writing immediately about any change to your name or address. if you do not tell them you may have to pay a fine of £1000. if you deliberately give them false information you could end up with a £5000 or two years in prison.make sure you keep a copy of your letter as the dvla have messed me around in the past re ownership of a car. (only after producing all the copies of letters and log book etc the accepted they were wrong)
