I have recently returned to london from 2 years travelling. my car is irish, as i lived there before i left. is it possible to insure,tax ,mot etc in ireland and then drive my car on the ferry to the uk? i only want some temporary insurance so that i can put the car through the mot and drive it to the uk,where i will then get a full years insurance,uk road tax etc. sorry im not getting any answers from the web and thankyou in advance.

You can insure your car for the year paying monthly installments and then cancel after first month, cant really see a problem
