Are there any uk car insurance companies that will insure a university student for only weekend/holiday use?
My daughter will soon be off to uni, she wants her own car but will only use it when she is home for weekends and holidays, i have heard that some insurance companies will cover her for these days - anyone know who?

Providing your daughter is over 21 and has held a full uk/eea/eu licence for a minimum of 12 months, this should not
be a problem.
she can purchase (or good
old mum can) insurance cover from between 1 to 28 days.
