I collected around 60 european horror classic on dvds from the 1960´s and 1970´s from mario bavas, fulcis, argentos cult italian horror classics from the past two decades. even though i also enjoy to collect the hammer british horror classic, both italian & british classic horror directors had tried so bloody hard to produce a damned extreme nice horror actings from those days.then i´ve tried to compare with the new mainstream american horrorproductions which are featuring and stressing more the actings of unknown big booby playmates in their colleague teenie modern horrorstories like "tales from the crypt, scary movies etc". oh god, their actings & dialogues are seriously awful and the line story (script) is empty /unisnpired! they are unlike the charismatic dialogues of vincent price, christopher lee & peter cushing nor boris karloff who had driven their horses with their scary huge black cape.i enjoy the gothic horror so much, it was so original and so wonderfso wonderful@ ginger darlin, you´re right, rosemary´s baby, the old universal horror flicks from the 40´s, the exorcist 1 & 2, the birds, psycho were very excellent american classical productions either. they were a huge rivalry for the italian giallo classic horror and the hammer british horror productions at that time. i didnt say that the hollywood only produced the crappy remakes.no it isnt true!but i´m very sick and tired of the new hollywood modern teenie horrors with the most big boob teenie stars,..are ya happy with me my ginger darling?

It may be because europe has a much older history. dracula was transylvanian, and witchcraft etc has existed for far longer. american horror films are probably not so nice due to less history and more commercialisation.
