Pc based diagnostic car scanners?
Does someone know if its possible to get a laptop based diagnostic scanner for read fault codes off cars? i know other accessories would be required but wondered if there is one with another external box

I believe i have seen data collection modules that plug into laptops for automotive applications that would also get fault codes, but they were expensive high quality data collection units that did alot more than that. a simple stand alone devices are available at any any parts stores, and actually some part stores will actually read the code for you for free.
