I did my xmas shopping at asda at 4:30 am on christmas eve and they were announcing over the loudspeakers that
Due to licensing laws they are unable to serve alcohol between 12 midnight and 8am, yet i could travel to a petrol station 200 yards from the store and buy £1000 worth of booze. so it is against the law for asda to sell booze at 4:30 am but it is perfectly ok for a petrol station where cars turn up to fill up their cars to sell booze. does that make sense to you?
