I was taught the inside parts of a car, what the buttons did, how to work things like window wipers, signals etc.
then he drove me to a quiet road and let me practise making the car go forwards, backwards and stop!
it was a lot of talking my first lesson-when iwanted to pass by, past experience of driving etc.
also, if ur thinking of learning then start reading up on the highway code or reading a theory book-it will help you understand what your instructors on about in the first few lessons!
