Second hand clothes and charity shops- cool or disgusting?

Is it ok to buy second hand stuff. if it is vintage, it seems to be cool, but if you buy a pair of topshop jeans from a charity shop, its seen as gross. opinions?

Vintage is just a pretty sounding way of saying second hand. i love charity shops. they make me happy. they make my purse sing and dance with joy. they make beer easier to afford. ps. why do my charity shops never have nice topshop jeans in? i get lovely sarongs and kaftahns tho
