First thing you need to do is copyright your lyrics. that way, others cannot steal them. its easy to do. the cheapest way to copyright is to make a copy and seal the original in an envelope, send it to yourself via usps (they stamp the date on the envelope. very important) and never open it. the date stamped by usps is proof that you created the lyrics before anyone else. another and more secure way to copyright your work is through the federal govenment. go to http://www.copyright.gov/ for more details. as far as selling your lyrics, you will have to present it to record labels and publishers.
