Hi there - you normally get in the post the v11 form which you take with you to the post office to renew your car road tax - or you can go online with it - mine has been misplaced/lost - what do i do?? how do i get another v11 form at such short notice? thanks for your help! grace

Take your v5 (log book) your certificate of motor insurance relating to the vehicle you are paying the tax on and a valid mot certificate (if required) a mot certificate is not required on cars of less than 3 years old. the post office will give you the appropriate form to fill out. no more worries. here is a precaution: because the dvla have electronic ways of keeping record of who has or has not got a valid tax disc, give them a call to inform them that you have renewed your tax disc. the system in place to catch tax disc cheats might catch you. the dvla have power to clamp, remove and crush any car not showing a valid car tax disc. they use their computer records to detect evaders!
