Technically no, as you are legally obliged to display a valid disc in the car. however, unless you were really unlucky with a jobsworth police officer, if you showed them the internet receipt you should be ok.you may still get a "7 day wonder" (to produce documentation), by which time your disc will have arrived and you can satisfy the authorities the car was taxed at the time of the inspection.in my experience, the tax disc has always arrived within 48 hours of purchase online. however, as this method gains popularity, service levels are likely to slip i guess.
