I had my health visitor come to visit me prior to my baby was born. she visits to introduce herself because she will visit you during the first 2 weeks after deli and its nice to put a face to a name. she will also explain what her role is, to weigh, measure and monitor baby and to make sure you are also ok, help with breastfeeding, your health and your mood. also any extra needs you may require. the midwife may only see you a couple of times post deli so the health visitor will take over your care soon post deli.
