I would like some contents insurance as my landlord is reluctant to get that kind of insurance, and as i understand it, its perfectly legal to not have contents insurance, its just building insurance thats required for landlords. soo, i would like to have some contents insurance for myself, as the other guys i share with are reluctant to share it. one of them will be moving out soon, and the other guy reckons his stuff isnt worth more than a few hundred quid at the most so not interested in paying for insurance. ive phoned around and i can apply for insurance just for myself, but most of the companies tell me that i cant apply for insurance just for myself if the property is shared. the insurance companies that do accept shared properties insist that the cover is for the whole house and occupants. help! can somebody advise me and link me to some insurance companies who can help me in my situation/requirements? also, all occupants bedrooms (including mine) have locks on them (key locks). not sure if this makes any difference. thanks in advance for any help/advice
