Can you get a road tax refund without the disc if you are the registered owner and the car is a right off?

We were told to take the disc off the car by the insurance company and forgot ,it is now with a salvage compamy but we are stil the registered owners

No you have to produce the old disc. ask for it at the salvage yard. x
