Car battery problem?
We have a ford focus 1.8 tdci ghia .the car is left two weeks at a time e
month but will not start, the battery is complety dead,we think it could have a draw on the battery but not
sure
, the auto electrician said the car will have to go in for a day to check all the circuits, it will cost a fortune i think .do you think it will be
easy to find a battery draw and are they easy to rectify ????
????
thank in advance
Answer
Send it to an auto electrician. it is a process of deduction to work out where the current draw is. nothing difficult. if he/she finds it quickly, it should not cost much. the electrician will diagnose the fault by putting an ammeter in the circuit, then
pulling the fuses from the fusebox, one at a time. the faulty circuit will register as a ammeter reading drop when he pulls the fuse. once he has done this, he knows which circuit is faulty. it is then a case of determining which device in this circuit is faulty. nice
luck.
