Do i need a static ip address?

Im looking at changing my isp, and currently o2 are offering a good wireless service (£7.50 a month for up to 8 meg to o2 customers). they charge an extra £5 per month for a static ip address (still only making it £12.50 a month!) , this is what it says about it:a static ip address is available with all packages. you won’t need this for general internet use, but it’s great if you want to run your own email, web or gaming serverswe intend to use the wireless for home pc, laptop, nintendo ds and wii (which we already do) my husband plays golf online in eves and i do the occasional shop and check emails.do we need to have a static ip address?oh occasionally (only occasionally) we would take the lap top away with us with this affect the on line game that is played?
Answer
You should be fine with using a dynamic ip, unless you plan on needing to access a web based game or website from a remote point. majority of casual internet users have dynamic, static is if you plan on hosting a game server, walking an online business, or have a need to acccess say a home camera system that you wanna be able to access from a remote site.
