Can you take a dog running with you?

Or is it best to keep to a walking pace? i mean an average to large dog in nice health, walking at a human pace for say 5/6 miles?

Yes its perfectly ok make sure you have water for your dog in case he/she gets thirsty. i took my german shepherd running with me and never had a problem.
