Are you talking about a blue th unit or an actual car phone. on the older cars there is a port for car phones to plug into mine is in the center console the right in front of the hands fee speaker the port connects the phone (actual handset) to the cars hands free system the mic is on the a pillar about half way up. the phone main unit goes in the trunk i believe i have my car wired for it but i dont have the phone. i believe the older audi phones are analog and most of the service providers now are all digital. audi world members are a good source of info you can try the forums there. i believe someone even made a chip to convert the analog phone system to digital to be used on newer networks.
