Car insurance problem!

I have
had my insurance policy and have been paying monthly installments since the end of june (have not missed nor have been late on any payments) but they have still not sent me an insurance cover note, i have
called and called and they have promised to send it but to no avail. i have
nt been able to tax my car (ran out end of sept) so has been sat on my drive for nearly a month now unable to be used.
. what can i do - where do i stand with the ins company?!?! am i liable for any compensation from them due to their sheer lack of service?!

y times but it says that my insurance details on not held on the database.

Could you post the name of the insurance company/ broker.
it would seem that you have
a case for putting in a formal complaint against them for poor service/ not treating you fairly. complaints procedure is in the policy document/ key facts document which you will have had from the company (if you have
not they are in breach of fsa regulations).
if you are
not happy with complaint resolution you can go to the fos - however i would contact the fsa directly stating that you have
concerns as to whether xxxx company are fit and proper to arrange insurance.
