Can anyone tell me, how is it that mr.brown has increased the car tax e year above the rate of inflation, without going to the parliament or was in the budget and i missed it.

Mine is only £35 a year! as the last person said it depends on the car engine size, & the emissions that it produces so if you have a 2 letre 4x4 it uses load of petrol and puts out loads of polution, it deserves a higher tax, while a 1.2ltr car will be able to drive further on less petrol & hardly put out any emmissions so it gets less road tax. this is not actually the goverments fault that this law exists, but is an eu directive that britian has to abide by, and if we do not cut the carbone emmisions then we have to pay the fine to the eu.i hope that my answer helps.joolz
