If i have applied and payed for my road tax but the disc hasnt arrived yet can i get done for driving my car without it

In theory you could be summonsed with "using a motor vehicle and failing to display a valid tax disc". in practise, a quick check by the police with dvla will show that your vehicle is taxed and therefore unlikely. contrary to popular belief. the summons, if ever issued would be for "failing to display a valid tax disc" and not for driving without a valid tax disc.
