We have quite a small rrom at the work place and have a health and safety officer which comes around on a evening. when all work is finished, we have accrued lots more work in our room with boxes paper, computer, and 7 people working in the room..is there anyone out there who could advise me on the health and safety issues we have here, and is there anyone i could contact out of the work force to come and have a look at the cinditions and work load we are working on??

You can ask your local fire service they will come and see what can be done to make the work place safe. your firm is responsible for all staff safety plus somebody who comes to the premises. under the new regulations that have been introduced october the 1st 2006 a log book or record should be made that all staff should be able to see of all service dates of any electrical appliances, and all service dates of fire alarms. your health and safety officer should do a risk assessment of the premises if you feel they are not doing the job properly get in touch with the fire service and broach your concerns, they will come to the premises and if your concerns are founded will then get in touch with the health and safety officer.
