My mortgage is around £60,000, my interest is the standard rate of around 5.25% and my monthly payments are £520.

Need to know how many years your mortgage is over if you average it out over the years you will be paying , say 25 year mortgage. £520 x 12 months x 25 years = £156000 £156000 - £60000 mortgage = £96000 interest £96000 / 25 years = £3840 interest per year. i may be completely wrong here! ! have only averaged it! !
