Would a mortgage company send out a valuer to my house if it?
Was not going to offer me a deal of some kind. would they go to all that bother for a £50 cheque for the valuation.?

No they would not send a valuer and yes they would go to all that bother on the basis you would take up their offer and be in debt to them than anybody else, remeber the intrest rate can go up as well as down and they hope you will be with them when it does!!
