Ok..i have kind of looked into this already, so im aware of the whole safety aspect of the mac book.not many chances of getting a virus on there (which is a relief, i had one on my desktop pc which messed it up!) but apart from that, what would you say is better in your own experience? iv pretty much read all the review websites so im looking for personal opinions now! main thing il use it for is gaming, media (videos pics etc)lots of word processing (uni student) music (suppose that comes under media) and pretty much ething!and how different are macs from windows based systems .i mean is the whole wireless network thing the same, ie get a wireless card, connect to a network etc, same with installing software and things?thanks!

Oh my, what a great question considering i used to have a windows laptop and bought the macbook pro last month!i have to say that i do love my new mac and i still am trying to adjust... you just have to get into a simple way of thinking for the mac - like if you want a pic somewhere, you just drag and drop!and the graphics are amazing so if you do a lot of media stuff, then this definitely is the machine to buy. i have heard that macs are not so great for gamining, so if this is what you use your computer most for, i would stick with the pc. i think its ok but i have heard the serious gamers say that not so great in comparison! i bought something called airport and you literally connect up to modem and it runs computer wirelessly. fantastic!another thing is there are no discs to insert... you just switch and go!macs do their own windows office package. unfortunately you will have to buy this separately. there is not really a word processor with it, so an essential purchase for college!my advice personally is you can have the best of both worlds... the mac do have software to run both apple and windows side by side - would solve a lot of decisions.nice luck with whichever you choose. how very exciting for you getting a new computer!
