I am with ntl broadband, does somebody know of an internet provider where you dont need a bt line!?

No, unfortunately with cable your restricted to their own internet!! i was with them for years, although i was fairly happy with the service!! could try broadband by satellite dish, bit more pricey but dont even need a phone line..
