I am wanting to use a laptop away from home on an infrequent basis. i comprehend that i need a 3g data & sim card! is this correct and if so does anyone know if i can get one on a pay as you go/ top up basis and if so where? i do not want a contract and will use my broadband connection when i am at homemany thanks janice

Have you considered going to internet cafes or larger truck stops for their wireless connections. most larger hotels have a business center where you could go and get on-line as well. have not heard of pay as you go wireless from cell companies. most are set fees for contract period. get an adapter for your cell phone and the software. it is a one time fee and uses the cell minutes. for a motorola it is $49 on their site.
