Broadband - disconnection problems.?
Have tiscali broadband. been having problems lately - when using the phone, broadband disconnects until phone call ended. however, during the last week, cannot
get a adsl signal unless i have
a dial tone on the phone ? tried taking a direct line from the bt box - changing splitter etc. still no joy.

Problems on broadband using phone...extension leads weaken signal may work for few months ok then all of sudden broadband buggers up -to resolve use ethernet length you need to reach modem or get a proper extension socket in room where the pc is.(if you have an extension try the main phone socket for connecting to eliminate the one closest to your front door)filter the little white box for ethernet cable and phone cable that plugs into phone socket make sure every phone socket you have in house has one of these they keep phone and broadband signals from interrferring with each other.(even if the pc isnt connected to them)check on you nearest bt exchange to see if its having problems try this site to find your area...http://usertools.plus.net/exchanges/if this keeps persisting it sounds like it might be a fault on your line another thing to try is disconnect all phones ,faxes and try that if it works great you definately know its the phone but it sounds like you sussed it already ,borrow another phone from some one to see if its your phone.sometimes callwaiting can inerfere with phone/broadband if got it try disabling it and see if broadband works.these are very simple steps to take to try resolve your prob hope something helps tiscali should have a tech team to help you through steps if you cant fix it,as they can check your line and see probs with bt exchange etc
