Just renewed broadband package should get 8meg but only getting 1meg is their anything i can do? maybe if i get a new telephone socket would that help? heard that copper or gold plated give better connections please help im on an 18mth contract and bt want to charge me £60 for an engineer to come out and look at it. i feel people living in the uk are really getting ripped off by broadband providers. thanks.

I have had a lot of trouble with bt in the past and have gone to sky for my broadband i had option 3 but slow speeds i pointed out to them that i might as well pay for dial up because of the speed i was getting they did not want to know until a friend who works for bt gave me the telephone number for waite for it "the chairbloke s office oh my god " to the top or what it worked all sorted out over £150 compo off them, 6 months free broadband it was great. if you want somthing doing ask the boss his number is 020 7356 5000 and i still went to sky
