Sunday trade: do we really need it?

I personally don’t agreed with sunday trade at all and would wish that the british government would abolish sunday trade altogether one day.so if the government abolish it where would shops fit in those extra 6 hours?here is way of getting those extra 6 hours in for example example a shopping precinct. at the moment most shopping precincts open at 9am and close at 5.30pm in towns and some precincts like bluewater, the trafford centre stay open until 10pmopencloseno. of hoursmon8am8pm12tue8am8pm12wed8am8pm12thu8am10pm*14fri 8am10pm*14sat9am8pm11this amounts to 75 hours which is the equivalent of 7 days trading without the need of sunday trade. *late night shoppingthis will enable people who work in offices to nip to the shops on thursdays and fridays. shop precincts could trade longer these hours. i.e. supermarkettsopenclosemon8amtue24 hourswed24 hoursthu24 hoursfri24 hourssat24 hours11pmsupermarkets could open around the clock 24 from monday 8am until saturday where they must close at 11pm this gives people loads of hours to shop without the need to trade on sundays and therefore guaranteeing shop workers sunday to spend with families and/or friends. which why i’m asking do we as a nation need sunday trade
Answer
Lots to read there..i got lost half way though.. actually, i do agree with you. bring back the days when sundays were sundays. even mrs patel down the road lol had shut up shop for the day :)..now as with e thing else..the pace of life is fast, its all about money money money. feels commercialised. i have 4 local supermarket shops nearby, literally 4 mins from me ..all are open 24/7..7 days of the week, 2 off licenses. sometimes its nice to know that you can get things in an emergency. but it would be nice to have our old fashioned sundays back. .:)
