Why dont you put ads on your local village notice board? also lots
of local shops usually have pin boards where you can place ads.
what about all the local pet shops- you could leave business cards on the desk.
although it may take a while, you could print off a load of leaflets yourself and spend a weekend posting them through letter boxes- this is an excellent way to get noticed and shows people you are willing to put in the effort.
it may be worth offering deals as well just to get you started i.e book in for 4 weeks in advance and get the 5th free etc etc
also referrals are invaluable, so you could offer discounts for people that refer others to you.

of extravagant things you could do, but start off with the simpe things
