I have a credit card and need to put money into a bank current account. is there a way to do this without withdrawing cash (which i will have to pay interest on the transaction).

Unfortunately you cannot do this without incurring the charge- stops people from taking zero percent cards out and earning interest in bank accounts - is a shame.
