Did he fall out with his wife and wanted to stitch her up? why would he go to all the trouble of acting dead for 5 years to screw it up in 24 hours. did he think the police would not check bank accounts and the movements of his wife.

God knows......any couple that can let their children continue to believe one of them is dead, when in-fact they were hiding in the next room e time the kids visit are sick in the head and need help.
