Can the government take money out of your childs bank account?
I have
heard stories of the government taking money from kid
rens bank accounts when their parents are on state benefits. surely they cannot
do this without consent. i have
twice heard this. one was apparently for the amount of £50.00 and the other for £10.00. if this is true then they are teaching the kid
ren the lesson that it is not worth saving your money as it is not safe.
i am talking about the united kingdom
Answer
You do nned to declare the amount of savings that your kid
has in their account, they will penalise you for this amount. your entitlement for money may be less than expected, due to your kid
having money. the benefit system see savings as a luxury and treat it as one. hard time calls for desperate measures, as a parent you may be required to withdraw that amount, simply because the state benefit are not giving you enough to live on because of it.
