Broadband speeds and packet loss?

I am on an 8 meg connection with sky and am currently getting 3.5megs, which i am happy with, but there seems to be an awful lot of packet loss, between 10-14%. does anybody have any clues to why this may be? thanks

Traditional connections such as through bt are not made to cope with broadband which is why you get such a high packet loss. the only way to get anywhere near to your full connection speed is to get your broadband through a cable company such as ntl.
