-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- im going on sky broadband but want to know if i go on the 8mb package and get say 5mb. would i get 10mb if i went for the higher package (16mb) or would the distance from the exchange limit me to 5mb???? also is there anyway of working out what estmated speed i would get on the 16mb package ??? (like a online calculator from my phone number)

There 8 bits to a byte so if your getting 16mbps (mega bits per second) then you are getting 2mbps (mega bytes per second)... same goes for the 8mbps package.. you only get 1mbps
