Where can i get a digital hd receiver without joining sky?

I have a 42" plasma hd ready tv and need a digital receiver to receive the signal for it in hd,i have already got sky and do not agree with having to pay a subscription to them for a hd receiver, when you can get a lot of free programs from other broadcasters.

Theres not much point if you are not joining sky as all the hd channels are subscription channels !!
