Yes digitial works on ( 525 ) analogue works at ( 465 ), therefore digitial is better.
please check to see if you can recieve before buying freeview box.
freeview boxes start as low as £18 but have a limited sensor and what they can do.
go for one with a epg ( electronic proggramme guide ) normal 7 days in advance, this then allows to see whats on tv.
if you feeling brave go for a pvr ( basicially a hard drive to record on ) if this is the case make sure it has twin tuner, as this will allow you to watch one freeview chanell whilst recording another.
