My son has just accidently sd on his laptop,the screen isnt cracked but there is a spiderweb of cracks?
Under the surface,is there anything that can be done,its brand new,can you just by screens,i am
afraid i dont know anything about computers,any help will be gratefully received

It depends on the make of laptop but the first thing to do is look at ebay and see if you can buy a replacement screen or an identical computer with a different fault. to remove the screen first remove the panel with the mouse which is held by screws removed from underneath. this panel holds the keyboard which can then be removed with care to avoid damaging the connectors. the frame holding the screen assembly is usually held to the lid by 4 screws.the screen assembly comes complete with backlight, lcd panel etc which is too fragile to disbloketle but can easily be replaced complete. a laptop can also be used connected to a conventional monitor and the old crt ones are cheap second hand.
