My son has advice to do double science instead of triple sc. by his grammar school. pls.advice: merits?
Our son is interested in reading law or mass comm. in the future. he is okay with sciences and thinks he may change his mind about his career in the future. will double science create any disadvantages? thank you.

It is the choice of a-levels which opens or closes doors to various degree courses.
there is no major disadvantage to choosing gcse double science even if your son chose to attempt 3 sciences at a-level (though get the school to confirm that it is currently possible - they may specify prefered entry grades to these courses).
an advantage to choosing double science is that one other subject may be studied which can increase his options post-16.
