Independant financial adviser?
Hi,this is a general enquiry, i am an ifa and i am looking for a way to get in touch with the people who actually need the services of a financial adviser.could any one give me any hints how best to advertise my servcies in this area, or if anyone is infact interested? i work in midlands united kingdom.blokey thanks.
Answer
I live in the midlands also (birmingham).
i work for a law firm and we frequently make referrals to financial advisors as we work in the wills, tax and probate & divorce section. many of our clients use the services of financial advisors and need recommendations.
what generally happens is that these connections are made by the financial advisors attending networking meetings with other professionals (e.g. in my case solicitors). you can make some strong links with such people and refer business back and forth.
you can also advertise. i have
never actually seen a financial advisor struggling for business- but maybe it is
hard when you are
starting out and have no reputation or base of contacts and people you know. in this respect i cannot
really advise, but i do know that once you have the connections you will never be short of work.
best of luck.
