Is a pci-e x16 port inside or on the case of a laptop?
I have the intel gma 945 chipset and it has the intel gma 950 graphics accelerator and it says it has a pci16x express port. is this port on the casing of the laptop (where the usb dvd etc is) or is it in the motherboard

There is
no pci-e port that you can actually use on the laptop.
the intel gma 945 is built into the laptops motherboard using the same technology as a pci-e bus, but it does not have an actual port that you can plug a video card into.
video adapters on laptops are built in, and are generally not upgradeable unless you buy a laptop made to allow the upgrade. 90% of laptops do not have that option.
