I want to know if the screem being very dim (some display but incredibly difficult to see) is likely to be the graphics card being damaged. when i plug the laptop into a monitor through the blue standard monitor slot on the back of the laptop it works fine on the external monitor. but this is from the onboard graphics on the motherboard. am i right? would buying a new graphics card work? any advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

Find the blue fn key on your laptop - normally near the bottom left. press and hold this key - now tap the up arrow key a few times until you get the brightness you require. hope this does it for you. wdw
