Can i connect the ethernet cable from the xbox 360 to the back of my laptop and connect to xbox live?
My router,modem and xbox is in different locations.i have wireless broadband so thought if i simply connected as i explained above,i could connect.if fails as it cant locate my ip address.also,i havent put an ethernet cable from the xbox to the router.please help.

The xbox 360 can not use a proxy server. it has to connect directly to a isp. hooking it to your laptop is attempting to use your laptop as a proxy server and will not work. you ned to hook it directly to a router, switch, or cable modem that is connected to the internet.
