Car amp question 2!?
Okay, i checked out what is an hpf and lpf that are on the side of my mac amp (high & low pass filters)what are the factory settings, orwhat is the ideal setting for loud bass music?both dials seem to go upto 35 db.what shall i set them to? thanks
Answer
Hpf if for all the sound
lpf is bass sounds
if you have only subs cycling
off the amp then set it to lpf.
when the dial is at 0db its will create sound at the bass level from the headunit.
when you adjust the dial up towards 35db its like turnin gup the volume on your headphones the more you turnit the louder it gets.
i foun dthat the best way to get this at the right volume without overloading oyur amp is turn the base on your head unit up high and on the amp low, therfore your amp doent have to work as hard because there is
alread a nice
base level.
best way to adjust it for the sound you like.
1. turn your headunit up to a level just higher then you will normally have it.
2. turn the base up full on the headunit.
3. slowly adjust the base dial on the amp towards 35db until its just more then you want.
4. turn the headunit down to the voloume you would normaly use and then adjust the bass level on the headunit till its wat you want.
your done, and its set to a level you like best advantage is when your mates are in the car you got that little bit more bass and volume you can go up to just to show off.
