I really want to get some highlights done, for starters my hair is a mousy brown and would like blondey highlights, so would i need to colour my hair first (lighter/darker)? and. should i get them done professionaly or diy? thanks

I would suggest you get your highlights done professionally first time round as the hairdresser will use the right colour tones to compliment your existing hair colour.
