Answer
The two basic styles of music played for irish dancing are jigs and reels. there are also irish hornpipes, irish polkas, and waltz tunes used. instruments used for playing the music can include fiddle (violin), irish flute, tin whistle, uillean pipes(irish version of bagpipes), banjo, mandolin, button/piano accordion, piano, bodhran and more recently the guitar.
